Three couples who have made it past the 60-year mark of marriage and now live at Brookdale Weddington Park in Matthews share words of wisdom.

One local couple is celebrating nearly 65 years of marriage this Valentine’s Day. Roslyn and Richard Brown reside at the Brookedale Senior Living Center in Sandestin, and they said they are enjoying spending their golden years together in the panhandle.

Keith and Nancy Newnan have been married for 68 years. They met through mutual friends back in Indiana when Keith came home from military duties and Nancy was a teacher.

Love has been in the air for a long time for a Sarasota couple celebrating more than 65 years of wedding bliss. Mary and Jim Palmer are 87 and 94 years old and have been married for 67 years. They now live at the Brookdale Palmer Ranch Senior Living Community in Sarasota.

Marriage is hard, or so they say, but don’t tell that to Jim and Sue Webb of Auburn. The couple are going on 59 years of marriage this year and though it may sound cliche, it was love at first sight.
